Recording Studio

A 16 channel analogue mixing desk and a variety of high-end microphones (AKG, Coles, Neumann, Shure...) and additional outboard preamps (Universal Audio)

is at the heart of the acoustically treated studio to ensure your music is captured in a sonically, very accurately and artistic way.

I've always considered you to have excellent attention to detail and everything you do seems to be done with a lot of care which is always nice to see. It makes you feel good from the start and it's reassuring. I think your personality is a major strength. I'm always very comfortable working with you and I think people who feel nervous or intimidated by a studio environment to should come and spend time with you. You're always smiling, enthusiastic, collaborative and never patronising. You never 'man-splain' things!

The space is great.  I enjoyed playing the instruments, using the amps and the pedals. When I went to the Norwegian studio the engineer was super impressed with the amount of tracking you had provided for options - with different mics / amps etc.   I've been really happy with the music we've done - in the studio and remotely.

Most of the recordings that are made in the studio here are singer songwriters or bands however, mobile recordings for choirs, orchestras and gigs are available.  For example last year, I went to visit the world famous Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band to record their arrangement for Lucy Ward's song Lion, which appears on her most recent album, I Dreamt I Was a Bird.

As a engineer and producer you were very impressive in the way you worked. You were incredibly knowledgeable in what you do, and fast to the point so we got the most music out of the session we'd paid for. You were very friendly and approachable within the studio. You weren't shy to share ideas either which is important to us as its as much your work as it is ours.

The studio environment was impressive. Its size definitely does not represent its quality in the fact you wouldn't believe what you can get out of a space such as that. We never felt cramped together when recording either which was shown in the music as we were free to do our thing.

The microphones you have available were incredible in the sound they provide. Every mic was chosen specifically for its job.  This made us feel as if you really cared for the sound you were getting.

The end result was amazing and we cannot fault it. You gave us versions of your work and we had to critique the mixes and you'd then edit as necessary which was good, your approach was relaxing. We again thank you for your work on our music and hope to see you again soon for more work.
